Diary Team-Trip 2022

Here we will report again what our team has experienced on our trip from 07 November to 06 December 2022, what tasks we had locally and how your donations were used. Also this year, the diary will not only be written by one person, but each traveler will tell once from his perspective. We hope you enjoy reading it.   07.11.2022 (Gabi) I have about 24 hours of travel ahead of me, but I am full of anticipation to finally see all the children and caregivers of Sonrise Ministries again. The day already starts great. The cab driver who takes me to the airport is so interested in the project that he gives me cash right away and tells me to use it on site. The flights leave on time and Richard is already waiting for me at the airport. Tired, I go to bed around 2 a.m. local time.Weiterlesen / Continue reading

Diary Team-Trip 2021

On this place we will again report on what our team experienced on our trip from 29 November to 23 December 2021, what tasks we had locally and how your donations were used. This year, too, the diary will not be written by just one person, but each of our fellow travellers will tell their story from their own perspective. We hope you enjoy reading it.   December 23, 2021 (Gabi) In the meantime, everyone from the team has arrived back home or at their next destination. During this team trip, we had to deal with unusually frequent power and water cuts due to heavy rainfall. The loss of a child particularly affected us and showed us again how different the chances of survival are in such a country compared to our home country. We have experienced the full range of emotions this time. Nevertheless, we also look back onWeiterlesen / Continue reading

Paul’s experiences

Paul travelled with our team to Uganda on 18 October 2019. He will stay 2 months with our dear friends of the Sonrise Ministries. After the last team left on November 30, 2019, Paul will report when he has experienced something special. So we can follow the development of the children and the progress of our projects over a long period of time. Read about his experiences here:   9 December 2019 The kids had their casting for the Lion King last Friday and presented a few sentences of the characters that they applied for. We have a total of 35 participants. As I am out sick with flu, I will have some time to think about who will be the future king, to invent some new characters and to write the script.   5 December 2019 Today was the first day of vacation for the Kamuli kids. AfterWeiterlesen / Continue reading

What is new this year is that this time the diary will not only be written by one person, but that every traveler will report from his perspective. We wish you a lot of fun reading.   30 November 2019 (Gabi): I surprise the team with the fact that I receive them at the airport. I am very happy to see the three of them enjoying their past experiences so much. Tired, but with beautiful memories, everyone is now on their way home.   29 November 2019 (Giulia): For our last day in Uganda we saved something very special. Here we will report again what our team experienced on our trip from December 2, 2018 to January 2, 2019, what tasks we had locally and how your donations were used. We wish you a lot of fun reading.   03 January 2019 Even though our diary actually ends on January 02, there’s still a little update on Michael. Since today he is in the Sonrise Babies Home and is taken care of by Auntie Peace.   02. January 2019 Arrived at the airport in Entebbe, now the long waiting begins, since our flight starts only at 5 o’clock in the morning. Also in Istanbul we have to wait a lot. Tired we finally reach Düsseldorf in the late afternoon. First big joy that all suitcases arrived. Unfortunately not always the standard at the airline with which we travelled. Then the next big joy. Mario – one of our team members –Weiterlesen / Continue reading
