On this place we will again report on what our team experienced on our trip from 29 November to 23 December 2021, what tasks we had locally and how your donations were used. This year, too, the diary will not be written by just one person, but each of our fellow travellers will tell their story from their own perspective. We hope you enjoy reading it. December 23, 2021 (Gabi) In the meantime, everyone from the team has arrived back home or at their next destination. During this team trip, we had to deal with unusually frequent power and water cuts due to heavy rainfall. The loss of a child particularly affected us and showed us again how different the chances of survival are in such a country compared to our home country. We have experienced the full range of emotions this time. Nevertheless, we also look back onWeiterlesen / Continue reading

Christmas Gifts for the Sonrise Ministries 2020
Many thanks to all our supporters! The project goal for 2020 has been reached 😀 We would like to give the children and caregivers at Sonrise Ministries and the families in Masese – a slum area in Jinja – individual presents to decorate Christmas. With 20 Euro for a certain child or a freely selectable amount for the “big pot” we can buy educational toys, clothes, hygiene articles and food on the spot and thus prepare an unforgettable Christmas for everyone. As in the previous year, you can continue to choose a child directly. The amount per child is still 20 Euro. Also the “big pot” is again from the part. In this pot one may pay any amount, if one does not want to decide for a child. At the end of the project we divide this amount between the children without direct donors, the carers of SonriseWeiterlesen / Continue reading

Water Well Baby Home
For a long time the donation project “water well” has been running and finally the construction could be started. With the purchase of a plot of land in Jinja and the construction of the new Baby Home, the water supply can now be secured by building a groundwater well. Many thanks to all donors who supported the project!
Christmas presents 2017-2022
Every year in September/October we start our Christmas project for the Sonrise Ministries in Uganda. We would like to make Christmas special for the children and caregivers as well as the families in Masese – a slum area in Jinja – with individual presents. With 20 Euros for a specific child or a freely chosen amount for the “big pot”, we can buy educational toys, clothes, toiletries and food on site and thus prepare an unforgettable Christmas for everyone. Over the years, we have gained many regular donors who donate for the same child every year and are eagerly following the development of the children. If you would like to be one of our regular donors, please contact Nina by e-mail and we will add you to our Christmas donation list until further notice. The children are also always happy to receive personal Christmas greetings and photos of theWeiterlesen / Continue reading
New addition to the Sonrise Baby Home
Since mid-March we have a new addition to the Baby Home. Felix suffers from tuberculosis and is severely malnourished. He is currently undergoing treatment while his mother has been accommodated in the Baby Home for so long.
Sponsorship
From now on we also offer sponsorships for the Sonrise Baby Home as well as for the children of the Sonrise Children’s Home and the girls of Mirembe Cottage. In the future, donations for the Baby Home can only be made in general. The background is that the costs for new arrivals are often very high. They are mostly malnourished, ill and need very intensive treatment, which is associated with high costs. However, as soon as the babies move to the Children’s Home, the sponsors are no longer available. This is why the Baby Home has problems to cover the running costs. For the Children’s Home and for the Mirembe Cottage a sponsorship for a specific child or girl can still be chosen. For the Baby Home a freely chosen monthly amount can be donated. The costs for an individual sponsorship are 120 Euro per child per month. ThisWeiterlesen / Continue reading
Paul’s experiences
Paul travelled with our team to Uganda on 18 October 2019. He will stay 2 months with our dear friends of the Sonrise Ministries. After the last team left on November 30, 2019, Paul will report when he has experienced something special. So we can follow the development of the children and the progress of our projects over a long period of time. Read about his experiences here: 9 December 2019 The kids had their casting for the Lion King last Friday and presented a few sentences of the characters that they applied for. We have a total of 35 participants. As I am out sick with flu, I will have some time to think about who will be the future king, to invent some new characters and to write the script. 5 December 2019 Today was the first day of vacation for the Kamuli kids. AfterWeiterlesen / Continue reading
Diary Team-Trip 2019
Here we will again report what our team experienced on our trip from 18 October 2019 to 30 November 2019, which tasks we had in Uganda and how your donations were used. What is new this year is that this time the diary will not only be written by one person, but that every traveler will report from his perspective. We wish you a lot of fun reading. 30 November 2019 (Gabi): I surprise the team with the fact that I receive them at the airport. I am very happy to see the three of them enjoying their past experiences so much. Tired, but with beautiful memories, everyone is now on their way home. 29 November 2019 (Giulia): For our last day in Uganda we saved something very special. After we said goodbye to the Baby home, we drove to Wakikoola. The students of the Mirembe School received theirWeiterlesen / Continue reading
