Capital city: Kampala System of government: Republic Area: 241,551 km² Population: 49 millions The aim of Sonrise Ministries in Uganda is to provide a safe home for orphaned and abused children in which they can grow up physically, psychologically and emotionally cared for. The organisation consists of five different departments. On the one hand there are the following three different homes. First the Sonrise Baby’s Home currently taking care for babies at the age of 0 to 4 years. Second the Sonrise Children’s Home currently taking care for children from the age of 4 and third the Mirembe Cottage of Street Girls with girls aged 4 and older. On the other hand there is also the Sonrise Children’s Choir consisting of children from all three homes, children from the local community as well as the Sonrise parish itself. Organisation of Peace’s Hope e.V.
Like every association we have an organizational structure. We have been able to build a great team, which is performing the official tasks and duties of our association. We would like to introduce ourselves here. Chairwoman Gabi Haak In a world where the gap between rich and poor is widening, social commitment is becoming increasingly important. I don’t just want to talk about changing things in this world. I want to be actively involved. E-Mail: gabi@peaceshope.com Co-chairman Warren Weidhorn The Peace’s Hope e.V. association is the result of Gabi’s long yearning to help other people, especially children. In 2014 she was finally able to realize this in Uganda and has since then captivated me and many other people. Donations require great trust in their use. Through her numerous visits to the site and proven donations for projects, she could inspire me as well. I am pleased that we haveWeiterlesen / Continue reading
The development of Peace’s Hope e.V.
I am Gabi Haak (née Geisler) and live Düsseldorf. I was born in a small town called Prüm in the Eifel, close to Luxembourg and Belgium. Early on, I was inspired by people who work for others in the so-called Third World. As a child, the desire to go into development aid grew constantly. But somehow my life turned out differently and I have been working in a big company for over 30 years now. I enjoy my work a lot, but the longing for development aid has never stopped. When my oldest niece travelled to Ghana with her school at the age of 14 to teach English and help build a classroom, the desire was irrepressible. So I started looking for ways to participate in such a project also as an adult. After endless researches in the internet I found an organization which could realize my wishes. In OctoberWeiterlesen / Continue reading
Farm Sonrise Ministries
Another big step towards independence for the three homes is the establishment of a farm. For example, cows daily supply fresh milk for the children, chicken eggs, beef cows meat etc. The cultivation of vegetables and fruit also helps to increase independence. And everything that arises as overproduction can be sold additionally. In order to be able to adequately supply the constantly growing number of home residents, there is a need for the following animal species, seeds, stables etc., which are listed below. Sonrise has also set itself the task of supporting the communities in the immediate vicinity with the launch of the “Piggery Community Empowerment Program”. The following is a Sonrise statement on this subject: The goal of this program is to help provide families with extra income so that they can afford things such as paying for their Children’s education, being able to cover medical expenses, andWeiterlesen / Continue reading
Water well for Sonrise Baby Home
In September 2020, we started drilling at the new Sonrise Baby Home site. The timing could not have been more perfect. It allowed us to connect the new homes directly to the well. The project has now been completed. You can find the description of the project below: In Uganda it happens again and again that disproportionately high bills are made for water. Unfortunately, the suppliers do not even stop at orphanages. By means of a deep well, which will be equipped with a solar-powered pump and a filter system, the Baby Home will be able to obtain clean water from the groundwater completely independently in the future. This would be another important and sustainable contribution to becoming as self-sufficient as possible and being able to use the money saved in this way for other purposes. The total project sum is about 19,900 Euros. 11,650 Euros were collected before theWeiterlesen / Continue reading

Christmas presents Sonrise Ministries
We have already been able to brighten up Christmas with presents for the children and their cargivers in Uganda for the last two years. This tradition we want and need to continue and besides that we want to include the families of Masese into this project for the first time. Together with the girls of the Mirembe Cottage of Street Girls we regularly visit their families in the slums just before Christmas. To prepare an unforgettable Christmas for everyone it only takes 20 Euros per child and a donation left to your decision for the caregivers of Sonrise Ministries as well as the families of Masese. That money will allow us to buy a lot of things for them. At the end of this page you can decide whether you want to donate for a child of the Sonrise Baby’s Home or Children’s Home, a girl of the Mirembe CottageWeiterlesen / Continue reading
